Clubs at Groton-Dunstable High School
You have heard that extracurricular activities are an important part of American high schools. So at Groton-Dunstable High School they have many clubs but the most popular clubs are the soccer team, the music club and the football team. The debate team is club which has to exist in every school.
Students on the debate team are more likely to be engaged in the issues of today, able to think critically on their feet and are not afraid to speak out - all qualities that colleges look for in prospective students.
Also, students that participate on debate teams are often outspoken within class, leading classmates into thoughtful discussions.
They also can open a new club, if they have a teacher who signs off as an adviser. The president of a club has always to be a student. If you are a president of a club you can try to recruit students at their schools activity fair.
Being in a club or being the president of a club is important for the colleges in which you are interested because you pursue your interest out and show your commitment. The clubs take place after their school ceases so in the Groton-Dunstable High School they start around 2pm.
