American sign language
by Celine Huge
My name (is) C e
l i n e
and I visited the club American sign language with my host student. It was their first meeting in this school year so we talked about some basics. I learned that American sign language is an independent language and has its own grammar. So is there for example no “is” in the pictures because it does not exist in this language. But there is not only the option to spell the word but also there are signs for most words.
My favorite signs that I have learned in this lesson are:

unicorn I love you

turtle dancing
It was was a great experience to take part in this club for one meeting. In Germany we do not really have clubs and especially not like this one. So I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to visit the American sign language club.
